Community Foundation of San Carlos Receives $35,000 Grant to Support Strategic Planning

The Community Foundation of San Carlos is excited to share some important news. We have received a $35,000 grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation to support our upcoming Strategic Planning process.

This funding comes from the Sand Hill Investment Fund and reflects a continued investment in strengthening local nonprofits and community leadership. We are grateful for this support, which will help us plan thoughtfully for the future and better serve our community.

Why Strategic Planning Matters

Strategic planning helps us pause, reflect, and look ahead. It allows us to ask important questions about how we work, how we raise funds, and how we can make the greatest impact through local nonprofits.

This new planning process builds on our 2022 Strategic Plan, which established our core focus areas: grantmaking and community building. Since that time, our endowment and overall capacity have grown, making this the right moment to take a fresh look at where we are—and where we want to go next.

How the Process Will Work

An Ad Hoc Strategic Plan Committee will guide this work over the coming months. The committee includes Nick LeCruyer, Aida Soto, and Pat Philips, and is led by Board member Nadya Chuprina.

The committee will review proposals from six local consultants and plans to bring a recommendation to the Board by February. Together, they will help shape a plan that strengthens our operations, supports sustainable fundraising, and clearly defines our role in San Carlos as both a strategic grantmaker and a community convener.

We expect to complete the strategic planning process by the end of summer and will continue to share updates along the way.

This investment helps ensure that the Community Foundation of San Carlos remains strong, thoughtful, and ready to support our community for years to come.
