A Century of Friendliness: Your Impact in San Carlos
In San Carlos, caring for one another is more than a nice idea. It is part of who we are.
More than 100 years ago, our founder Fred Drake called San Carlos the “Town of Human Friendliness.” That spirit is still alive today, and this past year showed just how strong it remains. Because of you, neighbors helping neighbors is not just a tradition. It is happening every day.
At the Community Foundation of San Carlos, our role is simple but powerful. We connect generous community members with local nonprofits that are doing important work right here in our city. For the past six years, we have helped turn caring into action.
Together, we reached an incredible milestone - more than $1 million in grants invested in programs that support youth, seniors, food security, education, and the arts.
Your support does more than fund programs. It helps create a sense of belonging across San Carlos by supporting:
Connection – Bringing people together through events like Week of the Family and Hometown Days
Creativity – Brightening our city with community mural paint days
Compassion – Supporting more than 21 local nonprofits that serve people who live, learn, work, and play in our City of Good Living
This year’s grant recipients include organizations focused on meeting real needs and enriching lives, such as:
Adaptive PE, Arbor Bay School, Caring Cupboard, Casa Circulo, NAMI, San Carlos Children’s Theater, San Carlos Little League, Villages, and many others. Each one plays a role in making San Carlos a stronger, more caring place.
