Celebrating Vicci Mueller: Our 2025 San Carlan of the Year

The Community Foundation of San Carlos is proud and grateful to announce Vicci Mueller as our 2025 San Carlan of the Year!

This honor recognizes a person whose heart has been deeply connected to San Carlos for more than six decades. Since 1963, Vicci has given her time, energy, and love to this community. Her impact can be seen in classrooms, at community events, in service clubs, and in the lives of generations of residents.

Vicci is a legendary educator. She spent 36 years as a beloved English teacher, shaping young minds and encouraging students to believe in themselves. Her classroom was not just a place to learn grammar and literature. It was a place where students felt seen, supported, and inspired.

Even in retirement, Vicci continues to champion our youth. She substitutes at Tierra Linda Middle School and serves as Chair of the Lions Club Student Speaker Contest. She helps students find their voice and speak with confidence. Her belief in young people remains as strong as ever.

Vicci’s service does not stop at education.

Her leadership spans every corner of San Carlos. She has served as Treasurer of the Kiwanis Club and as Chair of the beloved Chickens Ball. She has supported Hometown Days, volunteered at the Family Tree thrift store, and played a role on the Centennial committee. If there is an event that brings people together in San Carlos, chances are Vicci has been part of it.

Her service is both big and small, and always meaningful.

She bakes cookies for local seniors. She serves food at the city family campout. She brings joy to children by appearing as Mrs. Claus at toy drives. These simple acts of kindness create powerful memories. They remind us that community is built through care, consistency, and connection.

Vicci leads with a contagious love of life. She shows up with a smile. She lifts others up. She mentors, encourages, and inspires without ever asking for recognition. Her dedication has shaped generations of San Carlans.

At the Community Foundation of San Carlos, we believe that strong communities are built by people who give of themselves. Vicci Mueller is a shining example of that spirit.

We are honored to celebrate her lifelong commitment to making San Carlos a warmer, kinder, and more connected place for us all.
