This recognition is more than an award. It is a celebration of a business that has become a true Community Anchor in the City of Good Living. Under the leadership of San Carlos resident Greg St. Claire and the Avenir Restaurant Group, TOWN has shown what it means to serve with heart, integrity, and purpose.
For many in our community, TOWN is more than a restaurant. It is where memories are made. Families gather there to celebrate graduations. Friends meet there for birthdays and anniversaries. Neighbors reconnect over dinner. Housed in the historic Tivoli Building, TOWN has become a magnet in our downtown and a place where community truly comes together.
But what makes TOWN special goes far beyond its welcoming atmosphere.
TOWN’s commitment to our youth is unmatched. Through its signature event, An Evening at TOWN, and years of generous support for the San Carlos Education Foundation, Greg and his team have helped raise more than $1 million for our local public schools. That impact reaches classrooms, teachers, and students across San Carlos.
Their generosity does not stop there. TOWN has supported the Ronald McDonald House, local youth sports programs, and the 49ers Foundation. Time and again, they have shown that their mission to “make people happy” extends well beyond their dining room.
TOWN also leads by example in how it runs its business.
They prioritize organic and sustainable produce, working with local farms whenever possible. They serve responsibly sourced meats and seafood, showing a deep respect for ethical standards and environmental care. These choices reflect a commitment to both quality and responsibility.
During the challenges of the pandemic, TOWN remained a steady presence in our downtown. Through uncertainty and change, they continued to serve with resilience and determination. Their strength helped support employees, guests, and the spirit of our community during a difficult time.
TOWN has proven that a successful business can, and should, be a force for good. Their decade-long legacy of generosity, sustainability, and community leadership makes them deeply deserving of this honor.
