There is so much momentum building in our "City of Good Living," and we are excited to share some big news, new opportunities, and upcoming milestones with you! From expanding our own capacity to funding the incredible local organizations that keep San Carlos thriving, this season is all about making a lasting local impact.
A Huge Thank You to SVCF for Believing in Our Mission
We have been awarded an $8,000 grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF)!
Living in a high-cost region means we have to work together to ensure equity and access to vital services for everyone in our community. As part of the San Mateo and Santa Clara county community foundation Alliance, we are honored to partner with SVCF to make that happen.
SVCF partners with local foundations like ours to improve daily life and increase equity for everyone who lives and works in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. We are so incredibly grateful for their trust and support.
What does this mean for San Carlos? We are using these funds to build a stronger, more efficient organization, so we can better support the local nonprofits and families who rely on us, making our City better than ever before.

Next Grant Cycle Opens August 12!
We are thrilled to announce that applications for our next grant cycle open on August 12! We support local nonprofit organizations whose work directly improves the quality of life for members of our San Carlos Community. This year, we are particularly encouraging applications from nonprofits with annual operating expenses under $1.5 million in their most recently completed fiscal year.
Because community impact is at the heart of our mission, applications will be evaluated on how clearly they demonstrate alignment with San Carlos needs, organizational effectiveness, and how funding will advance key goals. If your organization is making a difference right here in town, we want to hear from you! Shape the Future of San Carlos: Volunteer With Us!
Ever wished you could have a direct hand in shaping the great work happening right here in our "City of Good Living"? Now is your chance!
The Community Foundation is looking for volunteers interested in joining our Board. In addition to our core work of supporting local nonprofits, we are also the Fiscal Sponsor for the beloved Week of the Family in January, the host of the awards dinner and fundraiser, “Celebrating San Carlos” in April, and an entertainment sponsor for Hometown Days in May. Currently we are looking for community members who can:
Spearhead our Annual Appeal and Spring Fundraiser
Join our Communications/Community Building team
Provide legal advice
Oversee our IT operations (Google Drive, Squarespace, Mailchimp, Buffer, etc.)
