Honoring Tradition, Building the Future: Join Us on April 16
San Carlos has a long history of celebrating the people and organizations that make our community special. For more than 30 years, the Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner was one of those traditions. Today, the Community Foundation of San Carlos is proud to carry that tradition forward in a new way - with an evening focused on impact, connection, and giving back.
We invite you to save the date for a special community celebration that honors leadership while supporting the nonprofits that serve San Carlos every day.

Bridging the Gap for Our Community
In our most recent grant cycle, the Foundation funded 21 local nonprofits, supporting programs that reached more than 10,000 people across San Carlos. These organizations serve children, families, seniors, and neighbors facing real challenges.
At the same time, the need continues to grow. Many nonprofits asked for support beyond what our current funding could provide.
This event is designed to help bridge that gap. Every dollar raised will directly support our grant program, helping local nonprofits continue their essential work and expand their impact right here in San Carlos.
Celebrating Local Excellence
During the evening, we will recognize two pillars of our community:
San Carlan of the Year - honoring an individual who leads with service and heart
The Good Living Excellence Award - recognizing a business that makes a meaningful difference in San Carlos
These awards celebrate the people and organizations who turn the values of the City of Good Living into action.
Who Is the Next San Carlan of the Year?
In the Town of Human Friendliness, some individuals go above and beyond to bring people together and strengthen our community. We are now accepting nominations for San Carlan of the Year.
We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:
Sustained Service – A long-term commitment to local causes through volunteering, mentoring, or board service
Generosity and Mobilization – Leaders who inspire others to give time, resources, or support to local nonprofits
Inspirational Leadership – People who have started new programs or helped improve quality of life in San Carlos
Help us recognize those who lead with kindness and make our community stronger for everyone.
Nominate a Business for the Good Living Excellence Award
Local businesses are a vital part of what makes San Carlos thrive. From longtime shops on Laurel Street to innovative companies across the city, our businesses help shape the character of the City of Good Living.
We are now accepting nominations for the Good Living Excellence Award, which honors businesses that serve as true community anchors.
We are looking for businesses that show:
Civic Spirit – Supporting local events and community activities
Stewardship – Caring for sustainability and preserving San Carlos’s unique character
Generosity – Giving back through volunteering, local hiring, or support of nonprofits
Whether it is a small family-owned business or a larger company making a local impact, we invite you to help us celebrate those who invest in San Carlos.
