Screening and Panel on Art and Asian America

Friday April 23, Robert Moses’ KIN will dedicate an evening to addressing anti-Asian violence through special screenings and a panel discussion in solidarity with members of the KIN family and the Asian-American community. The 6-8pm PDT event is free, but attendees are strongly encouraged to donate $5-50 to a suggested AAPI organizations in lieu of paid admission.

Following screenings of works by Robert Moses and Bruce "Mui" Ghent, we will hear from eight incredible panelists. These Asian-American members of the KIN community represent the full history of RMK, from its founding in 1995 to the present day. Learn more about them below!

Tristan Ching Hartmannwas a member of Robert Moses’ Kin from the company’s inception in 1995 until 2006. She is currently a freelance dance artist and teacher based in San Francisco.

Cora Cliburnis a dance artist from Santa Fe, NM. She graduated from Stanford in 2019, with a degree in Anthropology and minors in East Asian Studies and Theater Studies. Cora has performed with RMK since 2016, as well as with other Bay Area dance companies.

Katherine Disenhofis a dancer, graphic designer, and arts administrator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After studying with Robert Moses as a student at Stanford University, she performed with RMK from 2013-2017.

Norma Fongis a dancer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She first began dancing for Robert Moses' Kin in 2006, and now serves as the company's rehearsal director.

Bruce “Mui” Ghentis a multifaceted performing artist based in San Francisco with extensive experience in both contemporary dance and taiko. He and Robert Moses first met as students at Orange Coast College and have collaborated on many works.

Brian Grannanwas an RMK member from 1999-2004. He worked in digital production in every tech boom since 1998. Now he teaches people how to ski and ride motorcycles.

Kerry Leeis the Co-Artistic Director of the Atlanta Chinese Dance Company. She has been a fan of RMK since taking Robert Moses’ classes as a student at Stanford University. She is honored to be part of RMK Around the USA.

Philein Wangis the Artistic/Executive Director of ZiRu Dance, a San Francisco Bay Area dance company that fosters cross-cultural understanding with a focus on the greater China region and the United States. She served as RMK’s Executive Director in 2020.
