What is the San Carlos COVID-19 Response Fund?
The San Carlos COVID-19 Response Fund was established by the Community Foundation of San Carlos to provide funding for nonprofits assisting members of the San Carlos community during the COVID-19 outbreak.
How will the fund be distributed?
Disbursements will be made based on an assessment of the most critical needs of San Carlos community members adversely affected by COVID-19 and potential impact by a qualifying nonprofit. The final allocations will be decided by a vote of the board of the Community Foundation of San Carlos.
Initial disbursements have already been made to organizations meeting the most urgent needs including food assistance, core services, and aid/PPE to local hospital workers. For details, visit COVID-19 Respond Fund Disbursement.
Nonprofits who are serving San Carlos community members during this time of need with immediate and ongoing services can apply for grants, which will be awarded on a rolling basis. For details, visit COVID-19 Response Fund Grant Guidelines.
Will all funding go to San Carlos?
Qualifying nonprofits must agree that grants will be prioritized to serve members of the San Carlos community first. Any remaining funding can be used to serve people in need in nearby Bay Area communities.
Can for-profits apply for funding?
If a for-profit organization is serving members of the San Carlos community who are adversely impacted by COVID-19, they should inquire about grants at grants@sancarloscf.org.

What is the Community Foundation of San Carlos?
The Community Foundation of San Carlos was established in 2019 to support nonprofits that positively impact the San Carlos Community. It is a 501c(3) charitable organization and is managed by a board of community volunteers from the San Carlos community.
Does the COVID-19 fund impact the Community Foundation’s endowment?
No. The COVID-19 Response Fund is a separate fund that will be disbursed in a timely manner to help San Carlos community members during this crisis. Its funds are separate from the endowment and will not be invested.

The Community Foundation of San Carlos is actively connecting resources and needs across our community. Some recent activities include:
