Fall 2021 Community Grant Round

 The Community Foundation of San Carlos will begin accepting applications for its Fall 2021 grant round on Sept. 27, 2021. All applications must be completed by 7:00 pm Pacific Time October 15, 2021 to be considered. Award decision notifications will be sent on November 15, 2021. The Community Foundation Grants Committee may reach out with follow-up questions during the review process. Link to Grant Application.

Eligibility

The Community Foundation of San Carlos will consider requests for up to $10,000 per organization. Prior grant awards received will not be applied to this maximum. (e.g. if you’ve received $5k previously - you are still eligible for the full $10,000.)

Grants are available for 501(c)3 nonprofits, including those who have a fiscal sponsor. If your group works for the social good and you're unsure of whether your designation would qualify, please contact grants@sancarloscf.org.

What we’re looking for

Our scoring criteria for this round is based upon several factors, including benefit to the San Carlos community, impact, and effectiveness of programs. The Fall 2021 round will prioritize initiatives that address:

  1. Basic Needs Programs and Services - food, housing, mental health, and other core services for low-income and  vulnerable community members

  2. Environment - programs, services, and initiatives that protect the environment and promote sustainability

  3. Social Justice and Equity - programs, services, and initiatives that address inequity and/or promote social justice values and norms

  4. Community Building and Social Connectedness - programs and initiatives that promote positive connections among community members

Grant Reporting

Upon receiving a grant, the Community Foundation of San Carlos requires a short grant report on the use and impact of funds to be completed no more than 180 days after utilizing grant funds. If grant funds are not used within 6 months of award date, please provide an update.
